  • I don't have a 4x4 vehicle, can I access the chalet? / I do not have a 4x4 vehicle, can I access the chalet?"
The last stretch of road (over the last 650 m) which leads to the chalet is an unpaved forest path with a slope between 0% and 15% depending on the sections. This path is closed to traffic (except local residents) so little used. Non-4x4 vehicles can drive there in summer. Once they have arrived at the Philomena sign at the foot of the property, they must park in the "BAS" car park because the slope of the property's private road (which leads to the gates of the chalet and the "UP" car park) is steep and n is only accessible to 4 wheel drive vehicles. In winter, although a company clears this road during heavy snowfall, 2-wheel drive vehicles without snow tires or chains must absolutely not drive on this road for safety reasons. 2-wheel drive vehicles fitted with snow tires or chains may be able to do this (depending on the vehicle model), if the weather conditions are favorable (absence of ice and thick and fresh snow) then park in the "BAS" car park of the property and then climb the private road either on foot or with the property's Can-Am Traxter vehicle (see Can-Am page of this site). We would like to remind you that to allow our holidaymakers to spend peaceful holidays without the risk of an accident, our six-seater Can-Am 4x4 vehicle is available to them free of charge with a deposit. To summarize: Summer: - access to the bottom of the property by all vehicles (2 or 4 wheel drive) - access at the top of the property (chalet doors) only for 4x4 vehicles or Can-Am Traxter made available by the owners. Winter: - access to the bottom of the property by 2-wheel drive vehicles equipped with snow tires not recommended depending on the snow conditions of the trail (prefer parking in the public car park at the entrance to the hamlet) - access at the top of the property (chalet doors) only for 4x4 vehicles equipped with snow tires (chains sometimes essential) and chained Can Am Traxter made available by the owners.
